We Have The Perfect Job For You

Here at Stephens County Hospital, our first priority is the care and comfort of our patients. By volunteering your time and energy, you can help us carry out our mission. If dedication, dependability, professionalism and loyalty are words in your vocabulary or if you have skills or talents to share - We Have The Perfect Job For You. A job with huge benefits, the kind money cannot buy. People volunteer for many reasons. For many, it is a way of giving back. For others, it may be to meet new people, learn new skills and form relationships. Although our work is serious and meaningful, it can also be a fun environment to work in. We have a great group of volunteers who enjoy the camaraderie between each other at our meetings and various fundraisers. As new members join our volunteer family, we try to best match their needs with those of the hospital. Such as areas of service, days preferred and hours available for work.

For those that enjoy the business aspects of the job, we encourage participation and the willingness to serve in a leadership capacity or serve on committees. The Auxiliary has fundraisers throughout the year. These events allow the Auxiliary to raise money for which we have several worthwhile programs. Around the Christmas season we have our "Love Light Tree Campaign" which enables us to purchase equipment specifically requested by individual departments of the Hospital. This would be equipment that aids in our patient's care while at Stephens County Hospital.

As a hospital volunteer, you have the opportunity to work and get to know others in our community. When on duty or helping with other projects, you are entitled to your meal free of charge in our hospital cafeteria. This is a great time to get to know others in the Auxiliary as well as our hospital staff.

Our Teen Program

The Auxiliary also includes a program for teens between the ages of fourteen and eighteen. Young people with the desire to serve the community and enjoy helping other people have the opportunity to experience first hand working in the medical field. This helps in their decision making process as to pursue this line of work in their future, while also providing a valuable service to Stephens County Hospital. The time commitment requirements for Volunteens are at least 4 hours per month during the school year and 8 hours per month June through August.

Our Scholarship Fund

In order to fulfill the growing need and demand for qualified healthcare workers in Stephens County, our Auxiliary has established a scholarship fund in order to render financial assistance to individuals who aspire to enter one of the healthcare professions or to upgrade their professional level. Any high school graduate or equivalent that resides in Stephens County is eligible to apply for the scholarship fund. Courses taken must be directly connected to the Health Field program.
