Stephens County Hospital Celebrates Employees’ Service

TOCCOA, GA -- The annual service awards banquet for employees of Stephens County Hospital in Toccoa was held on Tuesday, September 11 at the Georgia Baptist Conference Center located on beautiful Lake Louise . Employees were recognized for their tenure and the Employee of the Year was named.
“Nominations for the Employee of the Year are solicited from all the hospital employees and the top three nominations are present at the awards banquet.”, says Hospital Administrator Ed Gambrell. “It’s quite a big secret with the suspense building until the very last of the banquet when the winner is announced. Nominees included Karen Barnes, the Personal Care Manager of the Wilkinson Center and The Clary Care Center; Rodney Holland, Housekeeping Porter in the Environmental Services department and Curt Vanorman, PharmD, a pharmacist in the hospital pharmacy. “
This year’s Employee of the Year is Rodney Holland, a native of Clemson, South Carolina. Rodney and his wife, Peggy, are the parents of four daughters – Susan, Kerloria, Tammy and Mia. In his spare time, Rodney enjoys drawing, spending time with his family and attending church. Rodney began his career at Stephens County Hospital as a Housekeeping Porter on December 12, 2005 and is known throughout the hospital for his friendly nature and hospitable personality.
Also recognized were approximately eighty employees and their guest who were receiving awards for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35 years of service as well as 72 retirees from Stephens County Hospital, department managers and members of the Hospital Authority.
