The New Year brings a new life into the world at Stephens County Hospital.
A Toccoa mom and dad welcomed their first child into the world on New Year’s Day at Stephens County Hospital. That little bundle of joy, Kentavious Cantrell Spencer, was born Thursday at 5:18 p.m. His parents are Nicole Dodd and Kevin Spencer.
Nicole talked to WNEG News earlier today. She said she was excited to have the New Year’s baby, and called her experience at Stephens County Hospital a “good and happy” one. The hospital auxiliary presented Nicole, Kevin, and Kentavious with some special goodies today as well to mark the occasion.
“We put together a gift basket that contains among other things, diapers, baby wipes, a gift card from Wal-Mart, and a couple of toys,” said Auxiliary President Barbara Sheppard. “There are just numerous things in there any parents can use.”
Kentavious’ maternal grandparents are Michelle Dodd and Frank Johnson of Toccoa, as well as Harrison Winfield of Arkansas. The paternal grandparents are Jennifer and Delmonte Richey, and the late Terrell Spencer of Toccoa.
The attending physicians are Dr. Fernandez and April Teffault of the Toccoa Clinic. The attending pediatrician was Dr. Stroud of the Toccoa Clinic. The mother’s nurse was Sheila Dodd and Kentavious’ nurse was Leslie Harmon.
Kentavious weighed six pounds and eight ounces. He also has a full head of hair and all of his fingers and toes.
