Stephens County Hospital Wins Patient Safety Award

Stephens County Hospital is the recipient of a statewide patient safety award.

The Partnership for Health and Accountability has presented its prestigious Quality and Patient Safety Award to Stephens County Hospital for a project that reduced medication errors.

The project, titled “Medication Reconciliation,” won third place in the less than 100 beds category.

These annual awards from the Georgia Hospital Association recognize health care organizations in the state for achievement in reducing the risk of medical errors and improving patient safety and medical outcomes.

GHA President Joseph Parker said identifying and eliminating medication errors are an important factor in ensuring medication safety. Parker went on to say that they congratulate and applaud Stephens County Hospital for its dedication in this critical area.
