OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST JOINS SRS

 TOCCOA, GA ~ ~Shala Phillips has accepted a fulltime position as the occupational therapist at Southern Rehab Services of Stephens County Hospital. Born in Washington, Georgia, Shala received a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Medical College of Georgia in 2000.

With a strong background in geriatrics and bariatrics plus experience in long term acute care, she will be responsible for adult inpatient and outpatient treatments, emphasizing independence with ADL’s. Shala has also initiated a feeding program to address self-feeding problems through adaptive eating utensils, compensatory techniques and retraining. She and her husband, Robert, reside in Lavonia with their two daughters, Taylor and Olivia.
