After seven weeks of classroom instruction, clinical rotation and state testing, the eight nursing assistant students have graduated the certification program. CNA’s are a vital part of the medical team, providing routine medical assistance to patients and typically work under the direction of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse. A CNA’s main duties include providing hands-on nursing care to patients.
During the graduation celebration held at the Cornerstone Restaurant, lunch followed the presentation of certificates and pins to each participant by Lori Deatherage, course coordinator. Participants were: Tina Meeks, Elizabeth Motes, Courtney Aldrich, David Winters, Jim McCollum, Judy Swilling, Charolette Beebe and Chanda Malone. Deatherage addressed the group and expressed gratitude for their effort and hard work the group had done in the previous seven weeks. Vickie Reid, RN , Sharon Jalovick, RN, and Dee Defoor, RN serve as additional instructors. Faye Taylor, RN, Director of Nurses, expressed her gratitude for the hard work of the class also. “This class has been a terrific class and they will do just great serving our patients. We look forward to having them on our nursing team.”
