Medical record files numbering in the thousands are now
located in the
latest renovation/build-out project
on the second floor of
Stephens County Hospital. |
Toccoa, GA (August 3, 2005) - Construction that began in January
is nearing the final stages as the area located above New Impressions
is being occupied by Medical Records, Accounting, Controller,
Data Processing, Quality Improvement, Coding, Transcription and
Utilization Review. “These departments work closely together
and were spread throughout the hospital in whatever space was
available for use. This week, several departments have already
relocated to the new area.” said Hospital Administrator
Ed Gambrell. “We were able to work with Bowen & Watson
for this project that added approximately 7000 square foot available
to hospital operations at a cost of $850,000.”
Beginning Wednesday, August 10th, it will be business as usual
in the new location. “Temporary
signs are in the building to direct the public to our new department where
we can accommodate their requests for birth certificates, copies of records
or tests done at Stephens County Hospital”, adds Tina DeBord, the Quality
Improvement Director. “It is actually easier for the public to enter
the Patient Registration area at the back of the hospital and ride the elevator
up to second floor. The elevator doors open into the lobby of Medical Records.” |
